We are so pleased to welcome Jesica Clark (they/them) of Willow Vale Farm in Standfordville, NY, as a guest teacher for this intermediate to advanced class.
Jesica will be taking us on a journey into the wide world of oval willow baskets, this time with a contemporary take on the Catalan base by Anne Mette Hjornholm. Students will learn to weave this modified base on pre-made willow hoops. A hallmark of the base is that the weavers then become the stakes. We build up the basket with waling and a choice of side weaves, including the fun zig-zag weave, Irish open weave, etc. Baskets are finished with a focus on refining woven borders and putting on leather handles or a leather strap.
October 5 & 6, 2024, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Course fee: $380 + HST includes all materials, tools, light refreshments (tea, coffee, snacks), fun and creativity. Payment for class is due at time of booking.
