Irish Potato Skib (07Nov25 & 08Nov25)
The Irish Potato Skib is an inspired by a traditional Irish basket. In the 1800s, the skib was used to drain and serve boiled potatoes. When not in use, the skib was hung on a wall to dry.
While this workshop is offered to weavers of all experience levels, different techniques will be selected based on weaving familiarity. We will explore materials, colour, different joins, pairing, waling and lovely flowing borders. Finished skib will be 25-40 cm in diameter and approximately 8-10 cm tall. This basket is a real beauty and makes a great gift.
